How to Update the PTC-150 Series Firmware



 

1). Copy P150FPGA.BIN, P150MCPU.BIN & P150MCTL.BIN (3 files total) to a USB FAT formatted drive, 16GB max.

2). Insert the USB drive to the PTC-150's USB port on the rear of the camera
3). press “MENU” in IR remote controller, then select the following options:
[5:SYSYEM 4:UPDATE SOFTWARE 5:UPDATE ALL YES ENTER]
4). Power down by unplugging the power supply, wait a few seconds, and then plug the unit back in.
5). The update process takes approximately 5 minutes.

The screen will display :
Updated Mot-BD=OK.
Updated FPGA =OK.
Updated MCPU =OK
6). When finished, the OSD will flash"Write-OK" / “Power on again”.
7). Power down by unplugging, wait a few seconds, then plug the unit back in. Once booted, the update is complete and you can remove the USB drive and use your camera.
8). To verify the firmware, go to:
[5:SYSYEM 4:UPDATE SOFTWARE]

You should see the following versions for firmware version 3.6:

MB CPU: V2.46
MB FPGA: V019
MCTL CPU: V1.05
Version: V3.6

 

PLEASE NOTE: Some cameras may take longer than usual to update to the latest version from version 2.0 or earlier. Most will update within 5-8 minutes and prompt you to restart the camera when completed, but please give this update up to 20 minutes to complete, interrupting this process may require you to send in your camera for service. Once updated you will no longer experience this potential issue.
