Datavideo, a leading manufacturer in video broadcast equipment, proudly announces that its PTR-15 4K Robotic Pan Tilt Head now supports seamless integration with the RED KOMODO-X 6K Digital Cinema Camera. This unlocks a whole new level of cinematic Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) camera workflows, bringing the stunning image quality of the RED KOMODO-X’s 6K global shutter sensor into broadcast studios, live events, and houses of worship.
The integration with the Datavideo PTR-15 makes it possible to achieve smooth, cinematic pan, tilt, and zoom camera movements while taking advantage of RED’s 12G-SDI output with 4K UHD resolution at up to 60 frames per second.
For control, the PTR-15 and RED KOMODO-X function as one, unified unit with Skaarhoj PTZ controllers. Users have full control of image settings for the RED KOMODO-X and PTZ movement of the Datavideo PTR-15.
For power zoom control, the Nikon 28-135mm Power Zoom lens delivers stunning image quality and smooth zoom movement when paired with the RED KOMODO-X. Users also have the option of mounting and connecting a Tilta Nucleus M Motor to the Datavideo PTR-15 to turn a manual zoom lens on the RED KOMODO-X into a power zoom lens.
Any production that needs PTZ cameras can choose from a wide range of zoom lenses supported by the RED KOMODO-X. The PTR-15 payload capacity is 8.8 pounds(4kg), meaning it can support the RED KOMODO-X and a compatible lens that weighs 6 pounds or less.

The PRT-15 provides 340 degrees of pan movement and 90 degrees of tilt movement, while providing power output to the RED KOMODO-X and all the connectivity needed in its top assembly. The PTR-15 includes loop through connections for 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HDMI, LAN, and zoom ports from its top assembly to its base for a tangle free cable environment.
Crafted from aluminum alloy, the PTR-15 only weighs 8 pounds. Its robust design serves as a stable platform for the RED KOMODO-X and other cinema cameras, offering the strength needed to support a camera and lens set up weighting up to 8.8 pounds.
Centralized control with Skaarhoj PTZ controllers enables efficient operation of multiple camera systems, reducing the need for on-site camera operators while maintaining full creative flexibility. Users can create and quickly recall presets for camera positions, providing consistent framing and smooth camera movement. This enhances overall production quality while minimizing crew requirements.
