Datavideo Launches New Test and Measurement Systems

Nov 05 2012

In the past, test and measurement equipment was designed exclusively for broadcast engineers. Vectorscope and waveform read-outs sketching out shapes on a scope were readily understood by technicians fluent in the language of signal analysis.

Today multi-camera digital acquisition is not merely the domain of the broadcaster; television production is open to more than a few traditionally trained camera crews. AV companies, video production companies and independent producers are now just as likely to be tasked with matching the output of multiple cameras and preparing footage and programming that conforms with broadcast technical requirements.

To address the needs of these users who require easy-to-use, low cost signal analysers, Datavideo has launched its VS series. In order to more easily comprehend the on-screen technical analysis, these new scopes allow users to switch fast between charts, scopes, histograms and the video feed itself.

Available in one or two rack units and with a handheld device coming soon, the products link easily with monitors that display both video and signal analysis.

Standard tests, such as Waveform monitor, vectorscope, parade and histogram are button-selectable while the monitors - either in-built with VSM-200 and VSM-100 or separate with the VS-150 and VS-100 -  can be switched to simple video monitoring whenever desired.

A Datavideo UK spokesman noted: "These products are great for producers who want devices to fulfil a number of uses - technically matching cameras, accurate signal analysis and monitoring camera feeds for live production purposes. Datavideo has delivered a product range that ticks all the boxes at a very appealing price."

Devices are available for single or dual monitoring.
