Datavideo SE-1200 RS-232 Control Protocol

Dernière mise à jour:2019/07/10

What is this Protocol?

The SE-1200 Serial Control Protocol enables seamless communication between the SE-1200MU and external controllers, such as PCs or automation systems. Built upon the widely recognized GVG100 Protocol, it ensures maximum compatibility with existing control systems and software. The SE-1200 utilizes an RS232 serial connectionoperating at 19,200 baud, which should be considered when integrating with external devices. Additionally, unlike the standard GVG100 implementation, this protocol does not require the ‘Break’ character, simplifying its use in various control setups.

What is RS-232?

RS-232 is a standard communication protocol used for serial data transmission between devices. It defines the electrical signals, timing, and data exchange format, making it widely used in industrial and professional AV equipment for reliable control and automation. Operating over a simple wired connection, RS-232 enables direct communication between controllers and devices, such as switchers and cameras, without requiring a network. While older compared to modern interfaces, it remains a trusted solution for stable, point-to-point control in many applications.
